Is your life insurance is still valid now you are an expat?

Do you have a personal life insurance policy back in the UK?

Did you already notify the provider of your move overseas?

If not, it would certainly be worth contacting them as soon as possible to let them know of your change in circumstances. The reason for this is that the act of relocating to another country can render some life insurance policies invalid. As a result, the policy may not pay out a claim if you are no longer a UK resident.

Therefore, it would be prudent to ask your insurance company to confirm, in writing, that you are still covered in your current country of residence.

If you find out that the policy is invalid while you are overseas, then you should look to replace it with one that is internationally portable at the earliest opportunity.
